InfoComm is Starting its Own Green Ratings. Whaddya Think?

Check out our story (http://bit.ly/aL9lhn), then chime in. Basically the AV industry wasn't getting the attention it rightfully deserved from the green building community (USGBC, LEED). Now InfoComm is taking matters into its own hands. There will be a session on the proposed rating system next week at InfoComm 2010.

I can pretty much guarantee that I wont be getting any green awards for my system. Not only is my rig black but the Amps are huge AB class monsters that draw 40% power at idle (powered on with no signal).

There are more efficient classes, but few that can sound even close to as wonderful. Definitely would consider going to higher efficiency where fidelity would not be totally sacrified, and certainly when the budget allows. But please do not try to convince me that I am the only one here with a rack of amps like this at home: (I know that there are some audiophiles here with massive Marantz, Levinson, Krell, and other classic power vampires in their homes).

Once you hear the "Rolls Royce of Pro Audio" how can we ever listen to inferior sound equipment again? I have planted numerous trees around my home, can that count as carbon credits to offset my sound system?
